Security & Vulnerability Analyst - Contract
We are working with a successful Agency in Austin, Texas, to find a Security & Vulnerability Analyst to join a small team.
The project is to analyze the Agency's front-end systems to identify architectural pitfalls, map and detect endpoints, and conduct vulnerability studies across integrated platforms — For example, taking a close look at the risks introduced by SharePoint integrations used across all systems. This is a Security/Infrastructure project, and you will work directly with the Senior Engineers already on the team.
The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously on this project and collaborate with the Senior Engineers already on the team. You will have great communication skills, and most importantly, you will be a hands-on Analyst experienced in front-end architecture review, endpoint detection, and application/system vulnerability assessment.
This is a contract position. You will need to be and will be based in Austin, or commutable to Austin. This position is on-site Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Analyze front-end systems and architecture to identify pitfalls, weak points, and exposed endpoints
- Perform endpoint detection and mapping across the Agency's systems
- Conduct vulnerability studies, including real-world/example-based assessments of identified risks
- Evaluate vulnerabilities associated with SharePoint integrations, given that all systems integrate with SharePoint
- Document findings and provide clear, actionable recommendations to the Senior Engineering team
Bonus points
- Any Government experience is a big plus
- Prior experience with SharePoint security/administration
- Background in application security, penetration testing, or vulnerability assessment
- Familiarity with endpoint detection and response (EDR) tooling
