Senior Laserfiche Platform Engineer / Administrator

Austin, TX

Our client, a Texas state government agency, is seeking a senior-level engineer to upgrade and modernize their Laserfiche Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform — including server infrastructure, application software, and supporting components. The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on experience with Laserfiche upgrades, workflow automation, and enterprise systems integration, and will work under minimal supervision to plan, execute, and stabilize the migration.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid — 2 days onsite downtown Austin, TX / 3 days remote (Austin, TX area). You must be local to or commutable to Austin, TX. 

This is a 12-month contract role initially. 

Responsibilities

  • Assess the existing Laserfiche ECM environment and develop an upgrade/migration strategy
  • Plan, install, configure, and validate upgrades to Laserfiche servers, repositories, web components, workflow services, and modules
  • Upgrade and optimize underlying infrastructure (OS, app servers, databases, storage)
  • Configure and test secure access for internal staff, partners, and external users
  • Review, remediate, and revalidate workflows and automated document routing for compatibility
  • Modify/enhance custom scripts, forms, templates, metadata structures, and integrations
  • Improve workflow automation for document intake, review, approval, and records retention
  • Support integration with identity management, authentication, email, and other enterprise systems
  • Conduct system testing, performance validation, and user acceptance support
  • Develop technical documentation and operational procedures
  • Provide knowledge transfer to internal support teams
  • Support production deployment, post-upgrade stabilization, and troubleshooting

Requirements

  • 8+ years administering/supporting document management, records management, or workflow automation platforms
  • 8+ years supporting both internal and external user access requirements
  • 5+ years building, developing, and troubleshooting workflow automations
  • 5+ years of experience planning/executing Laserfiche server and application upgrades
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environments and IIS
  • 3+ years of Microsoft SQL Server administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and customer-facing skills
