Chief Product Officer - Healthcare SaaS
This role is 100% remote, based anywhere in the United States.
Our agency is partnering with a late-stage (1B+ valuation) startup healthcare technology company to recruit a Chief Product Officer.
The company develops AI-enabled software that helps healthcare organizations make better use of clinical information, improve coordination, and support more effective patient care. Its products address complex workflows in an enterprise environment where usability, integration, and measurable customer value are essential.
The organization is seeking a product executive who can sharpen its platform strategy, deepen adoption, and guide its next phase of growth.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Product Officer will lead product vision, strategy, and execution across a multi-product platform.
This is a company-wide leadership role—not ownership of a single product line. You will connect customer needs, technical capabilities, and commercial priorities into a focused product strategy, making clear decisions about where to invest, what to scale, and what to stop.
Success will be measured by meaningful customer adoption, sustained engagement, and business impact—not simply product releases. You should be equally comfortable presenting to the board, evaluating investment priorities, and spending time with customers to understand why products become part of everyday workflows—or fail to.
You will lead Product Management, Product Marketing, and Design/UX, working with distributed teams and partnering closely with Engineering, AI/Data, Clinical, Commercial, Customer Success, Implementation, and Marketing.
What You’ll Own
Product vision and portfolio strategy
Define and execute a long-term product vision and roadmap across the platform.
Translate complex customer and market needs into differentiated, commercially viable products.
Make disciplined investment decisions across established products, emerging opportunities, and foundational platform capabilities.
Develop business cases for new investments, guide pricing strategy, and own product’s contribution to recurring revenue growth.
Identify opportunities to expand the platform’s value across customer segments and use cases.
Adoption and customer value
Own product adoption, activation, engagement, and retention outcomes.
Turn enterprise deployments into sustained use within customers’ day-to-day workflows.
Build a deep understanding of end-user behavior through direct observation and regular customer engagement.
Partner with Customer Success and Implementation to remove adoption barriers and demonstrate measurable value.
Balance the needs of enterprise buyers, operational leaders, and frontline users.
Platform capabilities and delivery
Guide the evolution of AI-enabled capabilities, data infrastructure, and integrations with enterprise healthcare systems.
Ensure products fit naturally into existing customer workflows and technology environments.
Improve implementation scalability through standardized configurations, activation tools, documentation, and repeatable integration approaches.
Lead launch strategy and commercial readiness, incorporating customer and go-to-market feedback into ongoing prioritization.
Executive and organizational leadership
Recruit, develop, and lead high-performing Product, Product Marketing, and Design/UX teams.
Serve as an active member of the executive team, helping shape business strategy beyond the product function.
Align leaders around priorities, surface risks early, and drive execution where ownership crosses organizational boundaries.
Communicate product strategy, performance, and investment trade-offs clearly to executives and the board.
Apply AI agents and automation thoughtfully to improve how the product organization operates.
What We’re Looking For
15+ years of product management experience, including at least 5 years in senior product leadership.
At least 5 years of experience leading Product Design or UX teams.
A track record of scaling an AI-enabled or data-intensive SaaS platform from initial traction to broad adoption.
Direct accountability for adoption and engagement metrics, including activation, active usage, and retention.
Experience developing platform-level strategy across multiple products, customer segments, or use cases.
Strong commercial judgment, including investment prioritization, pricing, and connecting product decisions to revenue outcomes.
A hands-on approach to customer discovery, including direct, on-site observation of users and their workflows.
The ability to lead distributed teams and collaborate effectively across technical, commercial, and customer-facing functions.
Executive-level communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders and board members.
A practical approach to using AI agents and automation in both product development and organizational operations.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
Relevant Experience
Healthcare SaaS experience is strongly preferred, but candidates from other complex enterprise software environments will also be considered.
Particularly relevant experience includes:
Clinical workflows, healthcare data platforms, or integrations with electronic health records.
Healthcare interoperability standards and enterprise integration requirements.
Products serving healthcare providers and/or life sciences organizations.
AI product development, model deployment, governance, or AI-enabled workflow design.
Navigating the operational, financial, and regulatory considerations that influence healthcare purchasing and adoption.
Who Will Thrive Here
You think beyond features and understand how platform decisions create lasting customer value. You combine strategic judgment with a willingness to get into the details, challenge assumptions, and take responsibility for outcomes.
You build credibility with technical teams, customers, and executive stakeholders. You recognize that successful enterprise products require changes in behavior—not just new capabilities—and you are willing to spend time in the field to understand what drives those changes.
You also bring an ownership mindset: when an important issue falls between functions, you help resolve it rather than waiting for someone else to take the lead.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
Lead product strategy for an established business applying AI to meaningful healthcare challenges.
Work directly with the CEO and executive team on company strategy and growth.
Shape a broad platform, with responsibility spanning product, design, adoption, and commercial impact.
Build and develop a distributed team focused on customer outcomes.
