Senior Microsoft 365 Platform Engineer

We are working with a successful Government Agency in downtown Austin, Texas, to find a Senior Microsoft 365 Platform Engineer to join their team. This is a contract position, expected to start in early November 2026 and run for 12 months, with possible extension. You will need to be based in Austin or commutable to Austin. This position is on-site Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Support and enhance the Microsoft 365 platform, including Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Purview
• Administer identity and access management, including conditional access, MFA, and role-based access controls
• Manage endpoints through Intune, including device enrollment, configuration profiles, compliance policies, and app deployment
• Troubleshoot complex platform issues, find root causes, and keep the platform reliable, secure, and performing well
• Implement and maintain security, compliance, and governance controls across Microsoft 365
• Automate administrative tasks with PowerShell and other scripting tools
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and configuration standards

Requirements

• 8+ years of senior-level enterprise IT infrastructure, systems administration, or platform engineering experience with Microsoft technologies
• 5+ years administering Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint Online
• 5+ years administering Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including conditional access, MFA, and RBAC
• 3+ years administering Microsoft Intune and endpoint management
• 3+ years troubleshooting complex Microsoft 365 platform issues
• 3+ years implementing security, compliance, and governance controls in Microsoft 365
• 3+ years writing technical documentation and operational procedures
• 2+ years using PowerShell or other scripting tools to automate Microsoft 365 administration
• Must pass a background check

Preferred

• 3+ years administering Microsoft Purview, including DLP, sensitivity labels, retention policies, and eDiscovery
• 2+ years leading Microsoft 365 migrations, platform enhancements, automation, or modernization efforts
