Accounting Manager - CPA

Austin, TX

This role is on-site M-F at our client's headquarters in Northwest Austin, TX. 

Our client is a privately held, established software company based in Austin, TX that is looking for an Accounting Manager with a CPA to lead a small accounting team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, expense management, and reporting. 
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the accounting team, including invoicing, accounts payable, collections and bank reconciliations, while providing guidance, mentorship, and hands-on support. 
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards. 
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. 
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial stability. 
  • Collaborate with other departments to analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making. 
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing visibility to expenses to support strategic planning and resource allocation. 
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers. 
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in financial management. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
  • CPA certification required.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a financial management role, preferably in a tech company or related industry. 
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. 
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members. 
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism. 
  • Must reside in the greater Austin metro area.
