VP, Sales - Federal / DOD

Remote - Washington, DC

This is a hands-on role based anywhere in the US. You will be one of the company's 1st hires in the US and will build a sales pipeline with the Federal Government / Department of Defense. We are looking for someone interested in coming in and rolling their sleeves up in an entrepreneurial startup environment. We are looking for someone with an in-depth understanding of the complex DOD / Federal Ecosystem and how to find opportunities with the DOD

Our client is a Pre-Series A startup leader in pioneering quantum-safe encryption technologies. We are looking for a motivated and results-driven sales leader to spearhead our sales efforts and drive growth in the rapidly evolving quantum encryption and solutions market. 

They are one of a few firms in the world developing solutions around quantum-safe encryption technology so if you are interested in leaving commodity sales behind and skilled in navigating complex sales cycles in a high-tech environment we would love to speak to you

Responsibilities: 

  • Identify opportunities primarily with the Federal Government / DoD (Department of Defense)
  • Align the requirements and facilitate the qualification process - RFI/RFP etc
  • Coordinate for any certifications, compliance requirements 
  • Identify grants and other opportunities 
  • Work with the sales team to complete the bidding process
  • Establish and manage the relationships

Requirements: 

  • Good understanding of cyber security, SaaS/PaaS models
  • 10-+ years of experience in the area of working with DoD either on the Supplier side or the Agency Side. 
  • Strategic networker. Previous experience meeting and developing relationships with Contracting Officers and Program Managers
  • Previous experience developing technical proposals and RFP’s
  • Understanding of how to market / position solutions to the DOD and against the competition
  • Knows how to get noticed by the DOD and where to be found by buyers. 
  • Familiarity with SAM (System for Award Management) and FPDS (Federal Procurement Data System)
  • Experience crafting capabilities statements
