Federal Construction Superintendent - (Sandusky)

Cleveland, OH

Our client is a leading Federal Construction General Contractor that's been in business since 2000 working with Federal government agencies such as NASA, GSA, USACE, ANG, and NAVFAC, as well as state and local government agencies. They want to add a highly motivated Superintendent in Sandusky, OH to work with a federal agency. This will be a multi-faceted tri-hat role involving elements of Superintendent, QC, and SSHO. This role is slated to start immediately and we are open to perm or 1099. 

We are looking for someone local or willing to relocate to the Sandusky, OH area on a traveling basis.

Superintendent

  • Act as Superintendent with a focus on schedule/quality/safety. (QC / SSHO)
  • Push the construction schedule, and notify stakeholders of any potential issues.
  • Ensure that the proper meetings are conducted, documented, and paperwork submitted. Monitor the quality of workmanship on site.
  • Ensure that all rules and procedures are being followed.
  • Develop an on-site relationship with the stakeholders on the government side. Nurture rapport with customers, but maintain a reputation for being tough on schedule, reasonable, and fair.
  • Schedule, organize, and quarterback all subcontractor activities on the job site. Develop a reputation with subs as being tough, professional, and honest.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Superintendent in Federal construction with a focus on schedule/quality/safety. 
  • Extensive experience in reading and comprehension of blueprints and specifications
  • Experience in hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency in output. 
  • Strong customer service skills including customer needs assessment, quality standards, and satisfaction assessment.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with the Project Manager to form an aligned team; the sum of your efforts produces a well-run and profitable project
  • Construction Quality Management CErtification (CQM) or willing to complete within 90 days.

Required Training

  • OSHA Construction Industry Safety Class with up-to-date First Aid and CPR Training/AED (30 Hours)
  • Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors Course Completion preferred; completion required within 90 days of employment
  • EM385 Fall Protection Training and Training for Scaffolding (24 Hours) in the past 4 years
