Financial Planning Manager
This role will be a hybrid position, 3 days in and 2 days work from home.
Our client is a top Wealth Management Firm that provides comprehensive financial planning, retirement and tax planning, estate planning, risk management, and investment management services. The company manages approximately $5 billion in assets on behalf of clients.
As our Financial Planning Manager reporting to the Director of Operations and Client experience, you will lead and oversee the firm’s financial planning efforts. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive financial strategies, managing, training and developing the financial planning department and servicing all financial advisors of the firm. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in wealth management, financial planning, tax strategy, and regulatory compliance, with strong leadership skills to drive the firm's growth and service excellence.
Responsibilities
Management:
- Manage a team of 10+ direct reports, providing performance feedback, mentorship, and growth opportunities
- Oversee timely and proper task execution of the Financial Planning Department staff's work
- Ensure training and compliance on firm-wide and departmental standard operating procedures
- Oversee & administer the new hire training process for Financial Planning Department staff.
Financial Planning Subject Matter Expertise:
- Stay informed of market trends, tax laws, and planning strategies to provide insightful guidance.
- Incorporate/oversee the firm's strategic client tax planning efforts.
- Identify & vet outside planning professionals/resources as needed.
- Oversee financial planning services, including sales and new business development.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to effectively resolve, record, and report on client issues.
- Independently manage complex, high-priority financial planning questions.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure all financial planning activities comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Lead and participate in the planning and execution of firm goals, departmental goals, and special projects.
- Work with the internal data analytics team to improve tools that support the delivery of service to clients.
- Special projects and additional tasks as requested.
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience as a Financial Planner or Financial Planning Manager.
- 3+ Years’ experience managing/leading a team of 5+ direct reports.
- CFP required, or willing to obtain CFP within 1 year of hire.
- Advanced knowledge in IRS, DOL, and FINRA regulations
Preferred:
- CPA
- Experience with Tamarac CRM
- Series 7 & Series 66 FINRA licenses.
- Expertise in KPI establishment, tracking, and reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience working with Pershing as a custodian, and/or Osaic as a Broker-Dealer.
