Workday Implementation Manager - Finance / HR
Reporting to the SVP of Business Systems, this is a permanent / direct-hire hybrid role based in St.Louis, MO. You must be in St. Louis or willing to re-locate. We are not considering Corp to Corp or H1B Transfer / Sponsorship.
Our client is at the beginning stages of a large-scale Workday Implementation for thousands of end-users that will have a significant, transformative impact on the business moving forward. They are looking for someone who is well versed in everything from requirements gathering to design / deployment and ongoing optimization of Workday. Additionally as this is a long-term project, the team is expected to grow to a team of 3-5 in the next 12 months so we are looking for someone who has both experience as well as interest in building and leading a team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as strategic point of contact for Workday between HR, Finance, and Technology teams.
- Build and manage a Workday Platform team over the next 6-12 months.
- Be a consultative partner to business leaders, helping to identify ways to improve how we work through better system design
- Lead our governance process, roadmap planning, and resource coordination for Workday
- Manage feature releases, system updates, and ensure they’re aligned to business needs
- Evaluate and recommend system changes or enhancements based on business priorities
- Lead and mentor our Workday support team, balancing everyday support with bigger strategic initiatives
- Configure Workday Platform
- Keep system documentation up-to-date and make it easy for others to understand
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team
Qualifications
- Workday implementation experience ideally with Finance and/or HR.
- Experience leading teams / people.
- General experience with HRIS, financial systems management, or enterprise application support
- Comfortable dealing with change (This is a Private Equity-Backed environment)
